Howdy, I’m Jay.

I’m a 4th year Human-Centered Computing PhD student in the Social Dynamics and Wellbeing Lab at Georgia Tech. I am also an ORISE Fellow in data science at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. I research technology-mediated violence with a focus on muting as a form of oppression that precedes preventable injury or death.

I hold a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Southern California and a Master of Science in Technology, Leadership, and Management from Agnes Scott College. I am also a Master Certified Health Education Specialist.

I have more than ten years of experience in violence prevention, program development, and cross-sectoral collaborations between healthcare, communities, and criminal justice.

I also lead in U.S. translations of the Cardiff Model for Violence Prevention, mental health and violence prevention program electronic health record integration, and program management.
